Goodie Bag 12/4

I know I'm a day late. Another six song-er for you all since I screwed up.

Beach Boys - Vegetables - It pisses me off that I didn't listen to Smiley Smile earlier. I mean, I've heard SMiLE's version of the tune, but it simply doesn't compare to this one. Nothing like the sound of actual veggies used as percussion. I want to make music like this.

EDIT: Matt has informed me that Paul McCartney is one of the veggie-eaters on the record. After researching this, I can confirm this is indeed true.

Lil' Wayne - Receipt - He's not the "Best Rapper Alive", like he claims, but this track showcases his impressive flow...and it's got one hell of a sample.

Neil Young - Betty Lou's Got A New Pair of Shoes - Neil Young pisses off Geffen by making experiemental records like 1982's Trans. The label tells him to make a rock record...he makes a rock...abilly album. Hilarity ensuses.

Box Car Racer - Watch The World - I bet you guffawed at that title. Now, I'm not saying this just because I turned 21, however, I think I've finally reached that age where I can look back at my teenage angst with a sense of nostalgia. This song brings it all back...*tear*. Besides, that crawling riff is pretty sweet, too.

Rolling Stones - Shine A Light - The penultimate track from Exile On Main Street, and my all time favorite Stones tune. I don't know if it's the slow burn soul or the backup choir that hooks me, but it simply towers over all other Stones tracks.

The Clash - Police On My Back - Sandinista! is part awesome and part trash. This is one of the awesome ones.

i love "vegetables"

puts a smile on my face EVERYTIME

wasn't it paul mccartney chompin' down on the vegetables for percussion?
