Visit AzraGaming.net!!

Our webhost, Mark, has launched a gaming site called AzraGaming.net. He is about to be sponsored by several companies, including the possibility of Bungie (the makers of Halo!!!) pending on a criteria of minimum number of members. He graciously waved my webhosting fees upon the agreement that I'd bring some traffic to his site, so please check it out. And if you like it, stick around! It's only a click away!!!

Spektor shines on "Hope"

According to the All Music Guide, Regina Spektor was born and raised in Moscow until the age of nine, where she then moved to New York. She practiced piano for years until eventually enrolling at the SUNY Purchase Music Conservatory. It was there where she took an interest in Billie Holiday as well as blues music. She took what she learned and developed a penchant for quirky pop and that can be heard on her albums 11:11 and Soviet Kitsch. Her third record, Begin To Hope, is due June 13.

After hearing the advance, simply put, I'm blown away. The melodies are beautiful, and the colorful production reflects Spektor's playful vocal stylings. I'm resisting to urge to post more than one track, but I sincerely believe that when 2006 is said and done, this will be on the list of the year's ten best records.

Never Quite Done, But Never Began

I can sing a song
and play a tune
but can't hold any notes

I can memorize
a few lines
but never a full quote

The words I chose
I forgot the most
but should've stayed with those

Someone just fired the starting gun
That always tells me I'm done

Experiencing a "Day Without Immigrants"

So I just experienced firsthand the "Day Without Immigrants" rally. I had heard about it though various news outlets in the past couple weeks, but it wasn't until I got off the train did I see the impact it had. Across the river on Jackson Boluevard there was a congregation of people so loud that it equated to the noise of some concerts I've been to. They went straight through where I was supposed to cross the street to get to the building. I thought I wasn't going to make it. This is good for the immigrant workers. Hopefully, the rest of America will wake up and do something about this.

Let the assault begin.
