Goodie Bag 12/10

Yo. Here we go.

Pink Floyd - Learning To Fly - Painfully overblown Floyd song from the Post-Roger Waters era. Enormous drums and lots of David Gilmour super-processed guitar. I don't know why I keep coming back to it.

Nouvelle Vague - The Killing Moon (Echo & The Bunnymen cover) - Nouvelle Vague is a French collective that covers 80's new wave tunes in Bossa nova style. Cool, right? Here's the kick: the artists performing them hadn't heard the original songs prior to recording.

Simon & Garfunkel - Save The Life Of My Child - Probably the most deliberately trippy song in the duo's entire catalog. Spooky sound effects in the background over a bouncy pop tune...listen to that freaky synth and the "The Sound of Silence" sample.

Thelonius Monk - Humph - This song oddly reminds me of punk rock.

Lil' Wayne & Young Money - Famous - No Goodie Bag would be complete without some hip hop. I'm still trying to figure this track out. The flow is unlike anything I've ever heard. The beat's kind of nuts as well because it's this weird clanging noise. Strangely, it all works, and I keep listening it over and over.
